My Mistake
January 13, 2009
First, THANK YOU to all who have been sending me such wonderful messages of support. They have been NEEDED and appreciated.
I apparently read the scale wrong at the doctor and it must've said 161 lbs - not 151. :( It makes more sense though. Since I haven't been able to actually start my transformation activities because I've been sick almost the entire time. This stupid thing headed into my lungs and I got worse, so have been sleeping a lot.
I got so depressed when I realized that I had read that scale wrong. I've never weighed this much where she had to use the other slider beyond 150 lbs! OMG So, I've been drinking lots of water, tea, juice and eating soup and salads and whatever my husband will make. :)
I did try a cleanse bath for the first time, of epsom salt, sea salt and baking soda. I actually weighed 2.5 lbs lighter afterwards! So, I've now taken 4 of them in the last 5 days and got rid of 4.5 lbs of toxins and water weight, I guess?? Weird. I was up to 165 lbs but am back down to 161 after the baths. ha
If only I could work out!!!!! This isn't the most positive of entries as I feel totally frustrated and depressed that I can't just be healthy and start my transformation.
We have a trip to the Grand Caymans in June and I am so stressed out that it'll be yet another trip of not participating in all the fun activities because I refuse to wear a swim suit in public. Blah
PS: The Bath Recipe (it's so relaxing and felt so good afterward!)
http://www.care2.com/greenliving/detox-baths.html
Hot water draws toxins out of the body to the skin’s surface, and while the water cools it pulls toxins from the skin, according to Naturopath Dr. Hazel Parcells. Epsom salts augment this detoxification by causing you to sweat. Other salts—all highly alkaline and cleansing—used in baths include sea salt, baking soda, clay, and Dead Sea salts.
Basic Salt Soak Bath Formula
Minerals and salts make the bath water feel silky and leave your skin cleansed and soft.
1 cup sea salts
2 cups baking soda
1 cup Epsom salts
1 to 2 tablespoons glycerin per bath
Combine the sea salts, baking soda, and Epsom salts in a bowl. Stir to blend. Pour 1/4 cup or so into the bath while the tub is filling. Add 1 to 2 tablespoons glycerin to keep your skin from drying out (more for dry skin, less for oily skin) and essential oils of choice.
