Spending time with my fun lovin' wife Brenda, cooking, wine making/drinking, cycling, hunting and all types of outdoor activities and trying new things. Been living in Havre de Grace, MD for a year now and have done a lot of sailing on new boats and old tall ships - it's been a lot of fun. Attended our first Pirate gala here last year and now we're hooked.

Fear of Change
Fear of change can keep you in a soul-crushing job, a bad relationship, or a physically destructive lifestyle. Ask yourself; is the devil-you-know approach good enough for you? Is your life making you happy? If you answered no to either of those questions, WHAT do you have to lose by embracing change?
The truth is, things should be changing ” your body is changing, your habits are changing, your attitude is changing. This might be the point where, because of so much change, you're starting to freak out a little bit. Are you ready for this????? I gained a half pound in 9 days but lost fat & gained muscle!!!!

Man, these BowFlex dumbells are kicking my BUTT!!
I think I've found out what the real problem is -- The Total Gym isn't working the muscles -- it was just stretching them. I haven't felt like this on workouts EVER. Explains why I thought I could keep going forever on everything.

well -- weighed in today. Lost a pound in a week but the fat percentage went up .2 percent. I lost muscle again -- Karen says I'm now banned to only 30 minutes of treadmill a day and they have increased my food consumption. So here we go again.
The clothes are fitting great so I'm still seeing the results I like. I'm stronger now than I have been in years -- I've got more energy than I know what to do with. I wanna go fast but they keep telling me to put on the brakes.
That sucks -- and I know that you know exactly what I mean.

Hey bubba -- switched up some stuff. Scott & Karen have got me on the 2TX & Enzyme -- also got the new Iso-Extreme Protein for post workouts -- got a big loss in 4 days and the Fat Percentage finally dropped -- YIPPIE!!

Hey Chris! Good for you. I know it's hard to hold back but the healing process is something you can't speed up. I know I'm singing to the choir. You'll have plenty of time to rock and roll soon. That 3 lb muscle loss will come back quick. I'm sure your regime of protein and glutamine really helped prevent further loss. It is well documented that surgery will deplete glutamine levels and where is that stored? Yepper, in your muscle. Won't be long now. We're in your corner brother...

My exercise is limited to walking until I start rehab on Friday. I was able to get two - 45 minute walks in today that included some inclines and steps. Feeling better every day and looking forward to getting lean and fit thanks to QC Max Muscle in Bettendorf, IA - The #1 Max Muscle franchise for the last quarter of 2009 - Way to go Scott and Karen!

Went for a cardiac rehab assessment today so I can start exercising more - under controlled and monitored conditions. I just want to do what they tell me and not over do anything and set myself back. March 15 is the big date when I won't have any restrictions so if I start doing some moderate workouts now I should be ready to hit it a little harder come St. Patty's Day.
So far I've lost @ 10 lbs, BF 28.9% (-1.1), 66.9 lbs fat, 164.6 lbs lean mass. According to Scott I've lost 3 lbs of muscle and 7 lbs of fat which he thought was OK given the fact that open heart surgery takes a lot out of ya and I have so many restrictions regarding lifting and certain movements. Hopefully that will change significantly once the restrictions are removed.

YO Matey! And what is MR B doing tonight? I'm just waiting for you to unleash yourself as soon as you get the green light. The pictures are already showing a loss just by your change in lifestyle already. So I'm thinking you will also see the fat falling off of you like Mr Stearns soon. Let me know what I can do to help so there is no doubt who gets credit for your transformation when you win. :)

Weather was nice enough for me to get some good walking in today and climb a few sets of stairs. Getting stronger every day - can't wait till I can really start to work out - should get the green light March 15 which will be 12 weeks since my surgery and when my sternum should be healed - Woohoo :o)

Kind of like getting run over by a truck and then dusting yourself off and signing up for a marathon race. Just keep healing so you can be the next Max Muscle Poster Child! We're behind you 1000%. PS - are those white patches of skin visible through your heavy fur coat from the EKG stickers?

It's been three weeks today since quadruple bypass surgery. My recovery is going very well - the surgeon was impressed with all of the Max Muscle supplements and products that I was using and was pleased because he felt that the protein, Green Synergy, multivitamin, EFA, glucosamine/condroitin, glutamine, and liquid collogen were going to helpful in my recovery. I was in the hospital for only 4 days and now I am getting ready to start cardiac rehab - I am hopeful that I will be able to get back to a serious exercise regime by mid March when my sternum is fully healed - hoping for the best. At this time, I have lost 2 lbs per/wk since I began December 1st which puts me - 10lbs, just need to get my body fat measured to make sure I am not losing any muscle mass.

Just went in this past week for a checkup so I could start hittin' it hard. Things didn't look good so I ended up getting a heart catherization. Was hoping to maybe get by with a couple stent's and be on my way - not in the plan, I am going in on Monday, Dec 14 for bypass surgery. Not worried about the surgery, just the recovery but Scott Herkes at QC Max Muscle is in my court and I will continue my nutrition regime and working out - just a little slower than I had hoped. Need to lose fat and retain my muscle mass - I am very motivated to get back in shape and stay healthy.
