Hey I was looking over some business material last week and came across a simple article that I had from quite some time ago. It is from a business coach that I get articles, etc. from sometimes. Hope you get something out of it like I did. Change Begins With Choice by Jim Rohn
Any day we wish; we can discipline ourselves to change it all. Any day we wish; we can open the book that will open our mind to new knowledge. Any day we wish; we can start a new activity. Any day we wish; we can start the process of life change. We can do it immediately, or next week, or next month, or next year.
We can also do nothing. We can pretend rather than perform. And if the idea of having to change ourselves makes us uncomfortable, we can remain as we are. We can choose rest over labor, entertainment over education, delusion over truth, and doubt over confidence. The choices are ours to make. But while we curse the effect, we continue to nourish the cause. As Shakespeare uniquely observed, "The fault is not in the stars, but in ourselves." We created our circumstances by our past choices. Fear of Change
Fear of change can keep you in a soul-crushing job, a bad relationship, or a physically destructive lifestyle. Ask yourself; is the devil-you-know approach good enough for you? Is your life making you happy? If you answered no to either of those questions, WHAT do you have to lose by embracing change?
The truth is, things should be changing ” your body is changing, your habits are changing, your attitude is changing. This might be the point where, because of so much change, you're starting to freak out a little bit. Dorothy, I guess you're my sista from another mista..lol..I had the same problem when I started working out and my appetite increased, I thought eating more was justifiable..wrong..that's why I have never been able to get rid of my 'baby fat':) I am actually getting used to eating small meals...yeah!

Hey girl, I'm 5'2" so my ideal weight is supposed to be 115..at this point, I'm just glad to be under 120 and I am more concerned with my BF. The lowest BF I have ever had was 20%, so I am shooting for 15%. According to my workout plan I am supposed to reach 19% by mid March..but at the rate I am going, I'm not sure if its gonna happen. I'm changing my workout routine this week again. How's your progress coming along?

I workout 5 times a week, typically Monday through Friday. I mix up my workout routines with heavy lifting, strength training, and high intensity training. I get a lot of my workout routines from the internet as well as Arnold Schwarzenegger's Encyclopedia. I'll try to squeeze in cardio and abs every other day, but definitely do those in high intensity to get a good pump and get a good sweat going. I'll keep my my workouts under an hour so I'm not losing muscle mass, but keeping lean at the same time. When I started out, I was really thin, but after 2 years of working out and eating right I've finally achieved on gaining lean muscle mass like I've always wanted. :)

Hey Dorothy, I just posted my "End of Month 2" progress article and pics. Month 2 certainly brought some challenges: strained shoulder (no chest for 1.5 weeks), strained neck, and foot strain. All of that was with the regular challenges any working professional goes through. Well, I am headed into month 3 which, essentially is my final month because for months 4 - 6 I will be focused on adding muscle and won't post again until right before the contest ends. I've broken down the contest into two parts: 1) get lean and 2) gain muscle and stay lean. So the first 12 weeks (3 months) are most important for me and is essentially my contest time frame. Gaining muscle is a very long and slow process, so the difference between month 3 and 6, in terms of muscle mass won't be very drastic.

Hey Dorothy, I'm doing good; had an awesome weekend in the Bay Area. We met up with some friends and our husbands set us up with massages, facials and body scrubs. We were supposed to go dancing that evening but we were so relaxed from the spa that we stayed in and played Wii:) We did make it into the city to shop which is one of my favorite hobbies. I brought all my supplements and stuck to my diet...and worked out each morning...yeah!! How was your week?

Dorothy I am glad to hear things are going good. I felt ya with the Valentine's weekend, my fiance came down to visit and I love cooking so I cooked her dinner and I have my diet I am suppose to stick to but she is tiny and I don't think she should have to suffer trying to eat my bland meals so I cook the good stuff but then of course I have to eat some of it too, haha. I just have to work extra this week in the gym and incorporate a few more workouts in. Keep up the good work and stay motivated.

Hi we will be staying in Pleasanton but will be going into the city to do some siteseeing and shopping. I heard the weather was going to be about 60 degrees this weekend which is good running weather..however, I actually like running on warmer weather..too bad I couldn't join your running group in a couple of weeks..sounds like fun. I checked out the Nike Women's marathon web site and I may look into signing up. Next year I am going to do at least one marathon.

Wow I'm impressed! I have heard of some of the races you mentioned but have never done any of them. Is Hayward in the bay area? I have always wanted to do the Bay to Breakers race (just to see all the people in their wild n crazy costumes:) My husband and I will be in the Bay area for Valentines day weekend...do you know of some good running trails with hills? I googled some nearby trails but not sure which ones are 'hilly'. Are the Nike Women's races challenging? i will have to google and find out if they have any here in San Diego...take care:)

I have done the San Diego Rock n Roll marathon twice. I didn't really train much because of my work schedule, but I did it anyways..my husband tells me I'm crazy, but he knows how I am, if I make a decision to do something, I do it. I really enjoyed it; the bands and cheerleaders along the way were great..oh and I ran with "Elvis" for a couple of miles, he was in full gear pushing a cart playing music; it was hilarious. I met so many awesome people throughout the race. I plan on running more marathons and the triple crown series of half marathons. I have only read a few chapters of the Chi Running book and it has already helped my running form. I was feeling like crap this afternoon, but I had to get my cardio in, so I went running and I felt great. I worked on my "Chi" form and I really felt a difference...no knee pain..yeah!!

I want people to get to know me. For so long I was holed up and depressed and never had the opportunity to show who I really am. This journey I have been on since Dad passed, has been one full of amazing things. I cannot even put into words. The strength I have found within myself is unbelievable. Distilled water no way!!! Distilled water is very acidic and I personally wouldn't drink it. Please take my advice and go buy a test kit and see for yourself. Compare it side by side to your tap water or a spring water. I know you will be surprised at the results. I know I was the other night, which is why I threw away a full gallon of distilled water. Again if were're already acidic, let us not add more to the equation. We need to balance PH levels... If you buy the test and aren't fully convinced I send you a check for a full refund... In the mean time, hang in there your doing great.
