Hi and welcome to my page. I started this journey in March of 2009 weighing in at 184 pounds(beginning picture). To day I start over fresh and new and ready to win this MaxFormation!!! Today I weigh 166.8 pounds. I started this formation last year with high hopes of changing my entire life. Although I did drop the pounds, its not enough, so I'm back to try my luck one more time!!
So I thought I would write a little bit about me and my past. I had 2 open heart surgeries when I was a baby and afterwards I would stay ultra skinny due to acid reflux, so after I had "a flashlight down my throat" (they fixed it) I started gaining weight massively. By the time I was in 4th grade I was overweight and getting made fun of like crazy. 4th Grade my friends!! Ever since then, I've never been the skinny girl. I've been overweight my whole life. I had no discipline. I was never told "No" when I wanted chips, or cookies. It was handed to me. I don't blame my family for my weight. Yes I was very young and yes they should've had more control over what I ate, but my mom was a single mother, and just doing what she thought was right. There was no dad there to help say no, or say she doesn't need that.
I haven't had any problems with the weight and the heart condition. Doctors were actually glad that I put on weight. They thought I would stay stick thin my whole life. How wrong were they? lol.
Since I was 13, I've been taking diet pills, trying to lose weight. The smallest I got was 165 when i was 15, (then 160 several months ago). I did it the wrong way when I was 15. I would starve myself but in my eyes, that scale went from 198 to 165, I thought I was doing something right. But as always, I lost weight, so now it was time to pack it back on. "Hey I'm "skinny" now, I can eat whatever I want" Luckily I kept it off for more than 2 years. I then met my boyfriend at the time which would be my husband today. He left for Iraq in 2007 and here come the weight. Stressed, over-eating, working at a restaurant, all the excuses you could name, well they were me. I went from 165 to 190 by the time he came home for R&R (9 months) My husband is a fitness freak. He wanted his girl to be "thin" or at least the size I was when he left. Instead he came home to a girl he didn't know. I was ashamed, but honestly didn't realize just how much weight I had gained until he said something. The talk of marriage was thrown out the window because I had "quit taking care of myself" So I lost 6 pounds his last 4 months in Iraq.
We then found Max Muscle here in Fayetteville and decided to go in. It was a life changing day! I got my first meal plan from the owner Bill Porter. I began to lose weight quick. I was taking ThermXX, Max EFA's, and my protein shakes. I couldn't believe how the weight was falling off.
I watched Toni Warrick lose her weight and I was amazed. I thought that I too could do it, but I didn't have the determination that her and Deb, Michelle ,and the others did. I just wanted to get back down to 165 and I did. Blah!! I started wanting that muscle body, but still wasn't ready to give up my comfort foods.
So here I am today, eating better. Finally lost my plateau and am finally losing weight. Now when I say eating better, I'm not going to lie and say that I don't sneak a chip or a cookie, because I'd be lying, but I'm trying. I'm trying very hard!! I still make mistakes, I'm human but this is a learning process.
Also...I had the honor of having Toni Warrick (Our 2009 MaxFormation winner!!) as my personal trainer and let me tell you she's hardcore!! There is no stopping or closing your eyes. I'm grateful I had the chance to workout with her. I thought I was really ready when I asked her to help me but I learned that eating is my problem. Either I don't eat at all like I should, or I eat all the wrong things and when given a meal plan, I failed at it. I did good for a few weeks got down to 160, then Thanksgiving came. Here I am 6 pounds heavier and feel every bit of it. I learned a lot from her.
I did slack off this holiday season but I can't and won't again. I HAVE to do this this time. ARE YOU READY MAXMUSCLERS!!! ITS SHOWTIME!! Just look at your past winners!!
WE CAN AND WILL DO THIS!!
