How did you get involved in your sport and how long have you been doing it? I began Weight Lifting in 2010 and have been going strong ever since!

What has been one of the greatest challenges you’ve faced and how did you overcome it?One of my greatest challenges in life was overcoming a 5-year battle with an eating disorder. My husband introduced me to lifting weights and since then it has changed my life. I became more confident and strong. Seeing the changes in my body and how I felt motivated me to gradually change my bad food habits. Eventually, these changes became habit forming it into a lifestyle!

What is the best part about what you do as an athlete? The best part about being an athlete is being able to help others who struggle in the area of fitness. Fitness has an impact in multiple aspects of life. Through this journey I have learned that taking care of mind and body has taught me to love and respect myself. When you can better yourself, you truly want to better others.

How have Max Muscle supplements helped you become better at your sport? Max Muscle supplements have been a great contributor to how I perform in my training sessions, as well as recovery. We all know that a clean diet is the Number 1 contributor but incorporating supplements can really boost those results and performance!

What is your favorite supplement or supplement stack so far and why? Pro BCAA, LiquiCarn, Glutamine, Creatine, and MaxxTOR. I love this stack for my pre/intra-workout. Aside from the new MaxxTOR, all other supplements I have been taking since day one of my journey. They help me power through my workouts and aid in recovery. I recently started taking MaxxTOR and LOVE the progress I have been making in my strength! Aside from my workout stack I always fuel-up with MaxPro Elite Natural Vanilla, and Naturliga Vanilla Swirl Protein. Best way to make sure I reach my protein intake.

What does being a part of Team Max Muscle mean to you? It is both an honor and a blessing to be chosen to represent an organization with such a great reputation. Being a part of the team is amazing because I have a support system that shares a common vision. Team Max not only encourages me to be the best version of myself, but together we strive to help others achieve their fitness goals.

When times get tough, how do you stay motivated? Motivation can be a difficult battle. I too, have days where I don’t want to work out. What keeps me motivated is that accomplished feeling I get after grinding out a workout. Setting short-term goals also helps keep me focused and driven.

Who inspires you and why? My husband. He has always believed in me more than I do myself. I want to be the best for him and the only way I can achieve that it to take care of my health mentally, physically and spiritually.

What are your top five training tips for your sport?

  1. Always challenge yourself
  2. Don’t skip leg day!
  3. Allow yourself recovery: Nutrient-dense food, H2O & Sleep
  4. Nutrition is key!
  5. Be patient, it takes time to grow.

What is the most important piece of advice you would offer to someone who wants to be like you?Be yourself and love yourself! Everyone is unique in their own way. God created you for a purpose, so live it out and strive to make an impact in other people’s lives. Invest your time in transforming those around you. “For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.”

Favorite quote or mantra? “Success is a lonely road, many will love you for it but even more may hate and envy you for it. Your success makes insecure people feel insufficient. Brush aside their negativity. Don’t succeed for them; succeed for yourself.” – Greg Plitt This quote means so much to me because I was constantly ridiculed for my lifestyle change. This was my 4 a.m. alarm clock to early workouts and long work days. I had a goal and I wouldn’t allow negativity to stop me from reaching it!

Top 3 songs you listen to when working out? This is a tough one. I like a mix but for the most part I listen to Trance/ Dance / Electronic. My top favorite change but currently:

Yuri Kane - Right Back (Anton Firtich Remix)

Markus Schulz - Nothing Without Me (feat. Ana Diaz)

Nero - My Eyes

Favorite cheat meal? PB&J (strawberry jelly) ALL DAY!! I can live off that!

Favorite healthy snack? Plain Greek Yogurt mixed with ½ scoop Vanilla Naturliga vegan protein, Almond Butter & drizzled Honey

What is your training routine like each week? I constantly switch up my training routines to confuse my muscles for growth but this is typically what my training routine looks like. I do 3 sets x 12-15 reps for each exercise and I train legs and shoulders twice a week.

Monday – Legs

Tuesday – Back, Shoulders & Cardio

Wednesday – Arms, Abs & Cardio

Thursday – Chest, Shoulders (brutal combo) & Cardio

Friday - Legs

What is your most notable achievement? I would have to say my first NPC Figure competition. I learned more about myself during that prep and post-competition than ever! It has taught me the extreme commitment it takes to overcome a challenging goal.
